Who&where are we ?

2017

Gestüt Enkelberger Mühle was set up by the family Schoesetters - Van der Linden with the idea to make horsemanship  and horse riding knowledge accessible to general  public.

John Van der Linden, our beloved husband father and a mentor was a Grand Prix level dressage trainer and an international jury member who died in summer 2022.

We don't have your expert knowledge John, but we acquired your teaching attitude of simplicity, honesty, empathy, humour and love.

2024

Our family moved in East Belgium from Flanders with our herd of westphalian warmblood horses. Instead of continuing our horse breeding and joining the competitions our family decided to keep the old sport and breeding horses and offer ride outs in this beautiful nature to the families visiting East Belgium during the holidays. They are also great school horses willing to jump and perform the dressage exercises with our students. Two years later we started the horse camps helping the teenagers to get on higher level of horse riding. overcoming their trauma' s or simply enjoying themselves in this lovely quiet place during their holiday breaks.

2024

Gestüt Enkelberger Mühle is located in the valley of the Holzwarche stream, from our doorstep you can directly approach multiple riding tracks, without the necessity of riding on a road. The valley of Holzwarche is a protected natural area but the horses and hikers are allowed to enjoy its wild beauty. It is famous as the only large location in Belgium where the wild daffodils grow. During april, the full valley turns practically yellow. During hours of riding in this neighbourhood we rarely meet anybody. We are a part of the final and highest located village in Belgium. After riding an hour through the woods we come to the first villages of Germany. Sometimes we are lucky and we meet the nobel deer. The wolves are here too but we have never met them yet...

You & your horse visiting East Belgium 

Your horse is always welcome in our stable, even for one night.

When you make your journey through East Belgium and you prefer

your horse to spend a night on a safe fenced meadow with water supply, 

we are providing what you need.

The rider(s) can sleep over in their own tent on our terrain or in our premises for free.

The accommodations of the horses are charged a fee, please ask more information and book the stay of your horse via enkelbergermuhle@gmail.com.
